Biography

Gaitee Hussain leads the Science Engagement and Oversight Office at the European Space Agency. Her team works closely with Europe’s space science communities, helping them convert ambitious ideas to groundbreaking discoveries and inspirational missions with long-lasting legacies. ESA’s Science missions address some of the biggest questions about the Sun, our Solar System and the Universe. In her own research, Gaitee uses observations from the ground and space to explore how stars like our own Sun – and the planets orbiting them –  are born, grow and evolve.

ESA’s Science programme takes us on an extraordinary journey through the Universe, from revealing new views of our Sun and our solar system, to addressing some of the biggest mysteries of our Universe today. In this talk you will learn about some of ESA’s most iconic missions and hear about the latest discoveries from ESA’s science missions. You will also learn how some of our science communities are using citizen science to ensure everyone can participate and help shape future discoveries.
